Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Orange Court
FONTANA, CA (October 15, 2018) – A woman was killed Monday morning following a pedestrian crash on Alder Avenue. The identity and age of the victim are being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Fontana Police Department, the incident took place near Orange Court. The victim was pushing a shopping cart in the number 1 lane of northbound Alder Avenue when she was struck by a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Jeep driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the fatal crash, which remains under investigation at this time. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
