Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle near 55 Freeway
SANTA ANA, CA (September 13, 2018) – A woman was killed Thursday evening following a pedestrian collision on Interstate 5. The identity, age, and place of residence of the victim were not immediately released to the public.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 8:30 PM near 55 Freeway. Authorities received a call reporting a possible “doll” or “dummy” in the traffic lanes. However, responding patrol units later confirmed that it was the body of a woman struck by a vehicle.
Investigators believe that the victim may have been struck by multiple vehicles, resulting in her death. An investigation is underway to determine the events that led to the fatal incident and to identify possible contributing factors. No additional information has been disclosed at this time.
