Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 94 in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 6, 2019) – An unidentified woman was killed Tuesday morning in a pedestrian crash on Highway 94, near Euclid Avenue.
The crash happened around 11:09 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of the highway, just West of Euclid Avenue. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was hit by a box truck for unknown reasons. Paramedics rushed to the scene and attempted life-saving measures on the pedestrian, but unsuccessful.
The unidentified victim was later pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of her injuries. CHP also said she was in her early 20’s.
Two lanes of the highway were closed for a brief time in the area while crews worked on the scene. However, the roadway has since reopened.
Furthermore, it was not immediately clear what led up to the crash or if the woman was homeless. Investigators currently believe she was also possibly struck by another two vehicles at this time.
