Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 at Main Street [FORTUNA, CA]

Early Morning Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 in Fortuna Ends in Fatality

 
FORTUNA, CA (August 27, 2019) – An unidentified woman was killed in a pedestrian crash early Tuesday morning in Fortuna.
 
The crash happened just before 1:00 a.m. on Highway 101 at Main Street on-ramp.
 
According to the CHP, the woman was walking southbound on the highway when a gray Dodge pickup truck hit her.
 
Fire crews, CHP officers, deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff Office, and an ambulance responded to the scene and found the pedestrian deceased on the highway.
 
A coroner was called to pick up the victim’s remains. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
CHP officers closed the highway for an unknown duration while they investigated the incident.
