Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (January 17, 2020) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian crash Friday evening in Desert Hot Springs, police said.
The crash happened around 10:40 p.m. on Palm Drive, just south of Dillon Road.
According to an initial report, a female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while walking near the intersection. As a result, she suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Authorities did not identify the victim pending notification of next of kin.
Police said the woman behind the wheel stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The crash closed Palm Drive between Dillon Road and 20th Avenue for almost six hours. The roads reopened Saturday morning.
Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. They asked anyone with information about the incident to call Sgt. Scott Hazen at 760-329-2904, ext. 372.
