63-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck on Oakland Road in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (December 28, 2019) – A 63-year-old woman died in a pedestrian crash late Saturday afternoon in downtown San Jose.
The fatal incident happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Oakland Road and McKay Drive.
According to the CHP, the woman was trying to cross the street when a 2008 Toyota Tundra heading south on Oakland Road struck her. The woman was not in a crosswalk, police said.
Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later. Her name was not immediately available.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Officials said neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in this incident.
