29-Year-Old Mira Loma Rider Fatally Struck by Tractor on 210 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (July 7, 2019) – A 29-year-old Mira Loma woman was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon in Rancho Cucamonga.
The crash happened around 2:12 p.m., at the intersection of 210 Freeway and 15 Freeway. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
According to reports, the woman was riding a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle on 210 Freeway transition road to 15 Freeway. She was allegedly splitting between the first and second lanes, passing traffic at an unspecified rate of speed.
For unknown reasons, her motorcycle eventually collided with a white Toyota Corolla, driven by a 38-year-old Rialto woman. However, her identity has not been released.
The rider was immediately ejected from her bike as a result of the impact, and sent into the southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway. There, she was struck by a white Volvo tractor, driven by a 52-year-old San Bernardino man.
The female victim, whose name has not yet been released, immediately died upon impact.
Traffic was jammed at the 210 Freeway and the southbound I5 Freeway interchange while crews worked to clear the wreckage. A SigAlert was also issued at 2:20 p.m. for an unknown period of time.
Further investigation of this crash is still currently underway.
