1 Dead in Fresno Bicycle Accident on Polk Avenue and Fairmont Avenue
FRESNO, CA (February 28, 2024) – Monday night, a woman died in a horrific bicycle crash on Polk Avenue and Fairmont Avenue.
The incident happened just after 10:00 p.m. on Polk Avenue and Fairmont Avenue. According to reports, a vehicle struck a female bicyclist believed to be in her 30s.
When officers arrived, they tried to perform life-saving measures but the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Reports said that the bicyclist was heading north on Polk Avenue when she made an abrupt left turn in front of a small SUV and was hit.
Afterward, the driver stayed on scene and was in custody under suspicion of driving under the influence.
