Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 216 in Visalia
VISALIA, CA (October 15, 2019) – A woman was killed following a head-on crash Tuesday night in Tulare County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened a little after 6:00 p.m. on Highway 216 at Avenue 320.
CHP officials said an 18-year-old man was driving a white Dodge northbound on Highway 216. He attempted to pass another vehicle and then collided head-on with a car carrying two women.
As a result, the female passenger in the second vehicle died at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of her family members.
Paramedics transported the 24-year-old driver of the second vehicle to a hospital with major injuries.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old man was also seriously injured and hospitalized. His three passengers sustained minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
