Crash Turns Fiery after Vehicle Collides with Tree on U Street
RIO LINDA, CA (July 26, 2019) – A woman died in a fiery crash on U Street, Friday afternoon. Authorities withheld her identity, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Rio Linda Boulevard, at about 3:10 PM. A speeding vehicle hit a bump before crashing into a tree. Then, the vehicle burst into flames as a result of the collision.
The trapped driver died at the scene of the crash. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate as soon as possible. Additional information will be released to the public once it becomes available.
