Car Crashes into Tree and Catches Fire on 91 Freeway in Artesia Killing the Driver
ARTESIA, CA (June 5, 2019) – A woman was killed following a fiery crash early Wednesday morning in Artesia.
The crash happened just after 2:00 a.m. on 91 Freeway at Pioneer Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2010 Honda Crosstour was traveling eastbound when it veered off the freeway and slammed into a tree. It then caught fire.
Emergency crews found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames and were unable to help the female driver trapped inside.
The woman, whose identity was not immediately available, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short time later, a motorcyclist also crashed after apparently running into debris on the freeway.
Video showed the motorcyclist conscious and talking as he was being taken from the scene in an ambulance.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
