Car Crashes into Pole and Catches Fire on Cedar Avenue in Bloomington Killing the Driver
BLOOMINGTON, CA (November 10, 2019) – A woman died in a fiery crash Sunday evening in Bloomington.
The crash happened around 7:53 p.m. at Cedar Avenue and 7th Street. The location is near the entrance of the Green Acres Memorial Park and Mortuary.
CHP officials said an unknown vehicle slammed into an electrical pole and burst into flames. At least three bystanders attempted to free the woman from the burning car but were unsuccessful due to the intensity of the flames.
When firefighters arrived, they quickly extinguished the fire but the female driver died at the scene. The identity of the woman was not immediately released.
The crash knocked down power in several blocks in the area. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs are a contributing factor.
Details regarding what might have led up to the crash were not available Sunday evening. An investigation is ongoing.
