Woman Killed, Joseph Martinez Arrested in Brentwood DUI Crash
BRENTWOOD, CA (June 9, 2019) – A 23-year-old Vallejo woman was killed following a DUI crash on Lone Tree Way near Davis Lane Sunday morning.
The crash was reported at 5:12 a.m., on Lone Tree Way. First responders arrived near Davis Lane shortly after.
According to an initial investigation, a Nissan Sentra crossed over solid double yellow lines before veering back across the lane. It eventually went off the roadway to the right shoulder, where it crashed into a large utility pole.
The female passenger of the car was pronounced dead at the scene due to the impact.
The driver and the woman’s boyfriend, a 25-year-old Joseph John Martinez of Vallejo, was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with minor injuries.
However, Vallejo was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
The CHP is still currently investigating the crash. In addition, police encourage anyone who witnessed it to contact the agency at (925) 646-4980.
