Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near Palmdale Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (September 24, 2018) – A woman was killed Monday morning following a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 15. The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 5:16 AM, just north of Palmdale Road. The pedestrian was walking in the number three lane of the southbound I-15 when she was struck by a black tractor-trailer.
The victim was airborne after the initial collision and was subsequently hit by another vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevrolet remained on site and cooperated with investigators.
The driver of the tractor-trailer did not stop to render aid and drove away from the site of the crash.
