Unidentified Female Pronounced Dead after Accident near 212th Street in Kent
Kent, WA (April 23, 2020) – Early Wednesday morning, an unidentified woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision on 77th Avenue.
Officers responded to the accident around 3:00 a.m., near 212th Street.
According to reports, the car encountered a train in the crossing of 77th Avenue. The driver then struck the back of the train for unknown reasons.
Witnesses confirmed that the car driver stopped for a brief moment and tried running away from the scene. However, officers later found the car in a nearby area.
Kasner said that the officials did a PIT block to stop the car from fleeing. Inside, 2 passengers were found including a woman in the passenger seat who was unconscious and critically injured.
Medics rushed and performed CPR on the unconscious woman but she was later pronounced dead on the scene.
Police Investigation
Furthermore, the car driver was arrested. However, police are still investigating what caused the collision.
Kasner said they are also looking into the possibility of driving under the influence.
