IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (June 23, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a woman died in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 111 near Rutherford Road.
 
The CHP found a person on the road on Highway 111 near Rutherford Road at about 1:00 a.m.
 
According to reports, the person sustained fatal injuries. Meanwhile, the County Coroner’s Office said that the identity of the deceased will remain undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Reports revealed that the victim was an adult female transient. The authorities suspect that a vehicle, possibly a big rig, struck the woman.
 
However, they didn’t find any vehicle at the scene.
 
Thus, the CHP is actively looking for a vehicle with major front-end damage. The authorities haven’t disclosed any other information.
