Passenger Dead in Morro Bay Accident on South Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road

 
MORRO BAY, CA (February 27, 2022) – Saturday night, a woman died in a crash on South Highway 1 and San Luisito Creek Road.
 
The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. when a 71-year-old Turlock man drove north on Highway 1. Then, he turned left at San Luisito Creek Road.
 
Then, the driver turned his Honda CRV into a southbound Kia Optima’s path. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
 
The Honda’s female passenger sustained injuries and required hospitalization. However, she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Meanwhile, the driver sustained major injuries.
 
Also, the 50-year-old male Kia driver from Visalia suffered major injuries.
 
After the initial crash, another vehicle struck the Kia’s front. At this time, the extent of her injuries remains undisclosed.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
 
Also, the incident shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 1 for almost two hours. At about 8:30 p.m., the lanes reopened.
