CASTRO VALLEY, CA (January 31, 2023) – Monday morning, a 28-year-old woman died in a pedestrian crash on Interstate Highway 580 and 238 Connector.
 
The incident happened at around 5:00 a.m. on Interstate Highway 580 and 238 Connector.
 
According to initial reports, a woman jumped out of a vehicle, carrying several others, and began to walk along the road.
 
However, a 71-year-old Castro Valley woman driving an eastbound Honda CRV on Interstate 580 hit the 28-year-old woman.
 
As a result, responders declared that person dead at the scene.
 
Officers confirmed that both drivers have been cooperative with the investigation.
 
Meanwhile, Sgt. Daniel Jacowitz revealed that the death was “tragic” and “avoidable.”
