Car Crash on Phelan Road Kills Driver
PHELAN, CA (July 4, 2019) – A 25-year-old female driver died in a car crash on Phelan Road Tuesday morning.
Based on a statement from the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at about 8:10 a.m. They have not released the name of the victim but said she was from Apple Valley.
An investigation indicated that the woman was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry westbound on Phelan Road approaching Tumbleweed Road. The car veered to the right and went off the roadway for inexplicable reasons. The Camry subsequently crashed into a chain-link fence.
The crash seriously injured the woman. First responders applied life-saving measures but she died at the scene.
The CHP suspects that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The CHP Victorville Area is handling the investigation. They urge anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the crash to call them at (760) 241-1186. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
