1 Dead in Grant County Auto Accident on Dodson Road and Road 12.8
GRANT COUNTY, WA (March 11, 2021) – Early Tuesday morning, a vehicle-crash killed a woman on Dodson Road and Road 12.8.
According to Kyle Foreman of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began at around 2:30 a.m. An Ephrata police officer responded to a call about a suspicious person in the Swanson edition of town.
Reports revealed that the officer saw a person standing outside a vehicle rushed to an awaiting vehicle. Then, at a high rate of speed, fled the scene.
Furthermore, authorities said that the suspect vehicle drove way ahead from pursuing officers when it lost control. Then, it rolled over before coming to rest in a yard near the intersection of Road 12.8 Northwest.
Also, the Ephrata officer who chased the suspect arrived at the scene and saw a man fleeing the scene on foot towards the east through a tree line.
Moreover, responders found an injured female outside the vehicle and started life-saving measures. However, authorities later pronounced her dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities managed to detain two males for questioning.
The crash closed Dodson Road between Neva Lake Road and Road 14.
The incident is under investigation.
