1 Dead in Concord Bicycle Collision on Port Chicago Highway
CONCORD, CA (January 20, 2020) – A woman died in a car and bicycle collision on Port Chicago Highway and Highway 4 on January 17.
Officers responded to the scene at 6:21 a.m. on Port Chicago Highway south of state Highway 4 near Panoramic Drive, police Cpl. Murtazah Ghaznawi said.
“A vehicle traveling northbound on Port Chicago Highway collided with a 54-year-old female, who was riding a bicycle,” Ghaznawi added.
The identity of the woman remains unreleased due to pending family notification. However, the 68-year-old Vallejo male driver stayed at the scene and helped with the investigation.
Authorities ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation. As a result, authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Traffic Officer Katan Nanthasiri at 925-671-5096.
