Fatal Redding Car Accident on 5 Freeway
REDDING, CA (January 30, 2020) – An Anderson woman died in a car accident on 5 Freeway in Redding on January 26.
The CHP revealed that the woman traveled north on 5 Freeway at around 7:00 a.m. when her Nissan Altima got struck from behind by a 25-year-old Cottonwood man driving a 2007 Dodge pickup.
The woman reportedly stopped in the slow lane. According to some witnesses, she blacked out just before the crash. She’s the sole occupant of her vehicle. Meanwhile, the pickup driver didn’t suffer any injury.
Authorities also ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision. Police did not release any additional information regarding the accident at this time. However, an investigation is ongoing.
