Woman Dies in Vehicle Versus Bicycle Accident on Rosedale Highway in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 23, 2019) — A bicycle accident on Rosedale Highway claimed a woman’s life Wednesday night in Northwest Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol said they received a report about the incident at about 10:25 p.m. A vehicle collided with the female bicyclist in a very dark area near Landco Drive.
Emergency responders were performing CPR on the woman when the officers arrived. Unfortunately, she died at the scene.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the 40-year-old victim.
According to the CHP, the man driving the vehicle was not intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. In the meantime, the coroner will determine whether the woman was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The woman was wearing dark clothing at the time of the collision. She was also not wearing a helmet as per the CHP.
