Pedestrian Killed in Oceanside Boulevard Auto Crash
Oceanside, CA (May 14, 2020)– On Wednesday evening, one unidentified woman died in an auto-pedestrian crash on Oceanside Boulevard near College Boulevard.
Oceanside Police responded after receiving crash reports at around 8:45 p.m. on May 13. Dispatched officers arrived and located the vehicle, and the pedestrian down on the scene.
Reportedly, a 22-year-old man was heading eastbound on Oceanside Boulevard when he tried to swerve to avoid a woman who crossed northbound at a break in the road. However, he failed to do so and struck the woman.
The victim’s injuries proved to be too severe. Responders transported her to an area hospital in critical condition, but she later died.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
None of the identities of those involved are released at this time. Moreover, police confirmed drugs and alcohol were not factors in this crash, but they did say distracted driving could be a factor in the case.
