According to Sacramento police, the deadly Northgate Boulevard collision happened shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Reports say that a woman lost her life after a vehicle struck her Wednesday evening on Northgate Boulevard in north Sacramento.

Sacramento police officers responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle near Northgate Boulevard and Rosin Court shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The driver involved remained at the site and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities have not yet identified the deceased woman and are working to determine the events leading up to the collision.

Northgate Boulevard between Patio Avenue and Rosin Court will stay closed for several hours as police continue their investigation.
