1 Dead in Laveen Auto Accident near 67th Avenue

 
LAVEEN, AZ (September 9, 2020) – On Sunday night, a woman died in an ATV crash near 67th Avenue in Laveen, Arizona.
 
Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the ATV Polaris Razor overturned.
 
The incident took place in the Salt River bottom near 67th Avenue and Southern Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. According to police reports, three people occupied the vehicle: a male driver, and two female passengers.
 
Enriquez revealed that the ATV traveled in the Salt River bottom and overturned due to the unstable terrain. As a result, a woman sustained severe head trauma and was declared dead on the scene by firefighters.
 
Meanwhile, the male driver and other female passenger sustained some superficial scratches.
 
According to Enriquez, the crash involved only the ATV. Moreover, the involved parties didn’t wear helmets, and the woman who died wasn’t wearing her seat belt. He added that alcohol didn’t play a role in the crash.
 
At this time, the woman’s identity remains unreleased.
