Woman Killed after Struck by Car on El Cajon Boulevard near 46th Street [SAN DIEGO, CA]

Fatal Pedestrian Crash on El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 18, 2019) – A woman in her 60s was killed after being struck by a car late Monday afternoon in San Diego.
 
The crash happened around 5:00 p.m. in the 4600 block of El Cajon Boulevard near 46th Street.
 
According to San Diego police, a female pedestrian was hit by an SUV while crossing the street. Bystanders found the woman trapped underneath the car and tried to help. Paramedics arrived soon after and took the gravely injured pedestrian to a hospital, but the victim died while in transit.
 
Witnesses told officers the woman did not use the crosswalk when the accident occurred.
 
Authorities did not release the identity of the victim pending next of kin notification.
 
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
