30-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car near San Pedro Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 10, 2018) – Early Monday morning, a woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident on East Vernon Avenue. The deceased victim was only identified as a 30-year-old woman.
First responders arrived at the crash site in a Downtown LA neighborhood at 425 E Vernon around 3:40 AM, near San Pedro Street.
As per reports, the vehicle fled the scene, leaving the injured woman in the road. Events leading up to the collision are unclear at this time. Police and paramedics arrived shortly after the incident, and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name and place of residence were not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin.
Several witnesses described the hit-and-run vehicle as an older, white van. There are no further details on the vehicle or driver involved. Officer Greg Kraft of the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations section, says there is an on-scene investigation underway.
