Female Driver Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on Mariposa Road in Hesperia

Hesperia, CA (December 17, 2021) – Tuesday evening, a woman died, and two children sustained injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Mariposa Road.

The fatal solo vehicle crash in Hesperia happened at about  5:49 p.m. on December 14 near Eucalyptus Street.

The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station said that the driver of a 2009 Dodge Nitro was traveling north on Mariposa Road when she failed to stay on the roadway as the road curved to the east.

The Dodge then left the north side of the roadway and rolled over multiple times. 

As a result, the 48-year-old driver of the Dodge died at the crash scene. EMS transported the two juvenile passengers to an area hospital for complaints of pain.

Weather conditions may have led to the crash. The National Weather Service reported that rain began falling in Hesperia on Monday night and continued into Tuesday,

Further, investigators from the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation.
