1 Hurt in San Diego Crash on Imperial Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 8, 2020) – Late Tuesday morning, a woman sustained injuries in a trolley accident on Imperial Avenue.
According to reports, the crash happened around 10:15 a.m. on Imperial Avenue and 68th Street. A trolley hit a possibly suicidal woman on a stretch of rails in the Encanto area. As a result, she sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
When the firefighters arrived, they freed the 53-year-old pedestrian from underneath the light-rail tram. Afterward, medical responders transported her to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, Sgt. Allan Butchart revealed.
The preliminary evidence revealed that the woman possibly tried to kill herself by stepping into the path of the trolley.
