Woman Injured in Rollover Crash on Chestnut and Muscat Avenue [Fresno County, CA]

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 12, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, a woman suffered injuries after a rollover crash on Chestnut and Muscat Avenue.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 2:00 p.m. Moreover, it happened in the area of South Chestnut Avenue and East Muscat Avenue.
 
In an attempt to avoid a collision with a northbound Kia sedan that turned left, a southbound GMC Envoy swerved right onto Chesnut Avenue. The incident happened at the intersection with Muscat Avenue.
 
Afterward, the GMC went off the road and crashed into a chain-link fence, before rolling over.
 
Furthermore, the force of the accident ejected a woman from the vehicle. The authorities confirmed that the woman failed to wear a seat belt.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the woman to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries, CHP spokesman Mike Salas said.
 
Moreover, authorities confirmed that a boy and a girl inside the GMC sustained no injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.
 
Also, the KIA driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
