Woman Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Palm Avenue [San Diego, CA]

Female Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Vehicle near Saturn Boulevard

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 26, 2018) – A woman was injured early Wednesday morning following a pedestrian crash on Palm Avenue in the Egger Highlands neighborhood. The identity of the victim was not immediately released to the public.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place at about 5:00 AM, a few blocks west of Saturn Boulevard. The pedestrian was walking south across Palm Avenue when she was struck by a Ford Edge.

The victim sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries as a result of the collision. She was transported to a local hospital, where her current medical condition remains unknown. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old driver of the Ford SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be disclosed once it becomes available.
