1 Injured in Petaluma Pedestrian Crash on North McDowell Boulevard
PETALUMA, CA (November 7, 2019) — A woman sustained major injuries in a pedestrian crash on North McDowell Boulevard Monday afternoon.
The Petaluma police said a pickup truck hit the pedestrian at about 2:10 p.m.
The driver of a Ford F-150 was turning left from a driveway to go north on North McDowell Boulevard. At the same time, the pedestrian was crossing the street from the east side, south of Ross Street.
The officers said the pickup was making the left turn when it struck the woman. The driver told officers he wasn’t able to anticipate that the woman will cross since she is not near a crosswalk.
Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash also forced the closure of North McDowell Boulevard for much of Monday afternoon.
Meantime, officials have ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash. However, the investigation is ongoing. The investigators urged any witnesses to call Officer Mike Pierre at 707-781-1208.
