Female Pedestrian Hospitalized after Struck by Car at Wharton Way
CONCORD, CA (September 14, 2018) – A woman was injured Friday afternoon in a pedestrian collision on Clayton Road. Her identity and place of residence were not immediately disclosed.
Concord Police Department officers arrived at the scene at around 4:30 PM at the area of Clayton Road and Wharton Way, after receiving multiple reports about the incident. The investigation revealed that the woman was walking on the sidewalk when she was hit by a vehicle exiting a driveway onto Clayton Road.
The female pedestrian suffered injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. She was listed in stable condition, as of Friday evening.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials during their investigation. Police stated that drugs or alcohol do not seem to be contributing factors in the incident, but the events leading up to the collision are unclear.
