SONORA, CA (December 12, 2019) – A young woman sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on Washington Steet on December 10.
 
The incident occurred in the 300 block of South Washington Street at Gold Street after 3:00 p.m. The traffic slowed down when the responding units and an ambulance came to the scene.
 
Responders took the woman to a hospital with a leg injury and a possible head injury.
 
According to some witnesses, they heard a thud and noticed the pedestrian being thrown at least ten feet from the crosswalk before she landed in the middle of the street.
 
Meanwhile, the vehicle driver stayed at the scene and helped with the cooperation.
