89-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Hospitalized after Struck by Vehicle near Date Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 10, 2018) – Monday night, an 89-year-old female was injured in a pedestrian accident on Third Avenue near the Presbyterian Church of San Diego. The identity of the victim has yet to be released to the public.
According to officials, the accident occurred just before 8:25 PM, in the 1700 block of Third Avenue near Date Street.
Police and paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. She sustained serious injuries including a fractured femur, a collapsed lung, and several broken bones. The status of her current medical condition has not been disclosed.
San Diego Police Sgt. Joe Ruvido stated that the elderly woman was crossing the street mid-block, outside of the crosswalk. There, a 2000 Ford F-150 pick-up truck that was headed north on Third St, struck her. The driver was only identified as a 51-year-old male who.
