Man in Custody in Yakima Injury Accident on US Route 97 and 2nd Avenue
YAKIMA, WA (June 22, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a woman sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on US Route 97 and 2nd Avenue.
According to Washington State Patrol, the incident happened at around 3:53 p.m. on US Route 97 at 2nd Avenue.
Reports revealed that an eastbound 1998 Toyota Camry attempted to make a northbound turn. Then, it failed to yield the right of way and collided with a southbound 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier on US 97 at 2nd Avenue.
Furthermore, responders transported the 34-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, authorities said that the 31-year-old man driving the Toyota will be facing charges for failure to yield right of way.
Moreover, officials confirmed that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
Also, towing crews responded to the scene to clear the vehicles.
Furthermore, the incident is under investigation.
