60-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver near San Ysidro Port of Entry
SAN YSIDRO, CA (September 25, 2018) – A woman was injured late Tuesday evening following a hit-and-run collision on Rail Court. The identity of the 60-year-old victim was not immediately released.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place at around 11:00 PM in the 5900 block of Rail Court, just east of the San Ysidro Port of Entry. The victim was sitting on the east curb of the roadway when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.
She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment and evaluation. Updates on her current medical condition were not immediately available. Meanwhile, the driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Investigators described the hit-and-run vehicle as a dark-colored SU, although there is no description of the driver. Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the driver and/or vehicle involved is encouraged to contact the authorities as soon as possible.
