INDIO, CA (March 10, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a woman suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Monroe Street and Highway 111 in Indio.
 
The authorities came to the crash scene at about 8:30 a.m. According to reports, the Dodge Dart male driver already left the scene before the officers arrived. The incident occurred on Monroe Street, north of Highway 111, said Indio Police Department spokesman Ben Guitron.
 
Meanwhile, a female passenger was transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
After the vehicle crashed into the police, it knocked out power to 250 customers in the area for a half-hour.
 
Meanwhile, authorities closed a short stretch of Monroe Street, between Highway 111 and Avenida Del Mar while IID crews responded.
