Woman Injured, George Ybarra Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on 27th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]

Woman Hospitalized after Rear-End Crash on 27th Avenue and Baseline Road in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (October 12, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, 58-year-old George Ybarra died, and a woman sustained injuries in a rear-end crash on 27th Avenue and Baseline Road.

The fatal rear-end crash in Phoenix happened just after 5 p.m. on October 12.

Phoenix Police said the collision involved two vehicles.

Reportedly, Ybarra was going west on Baseline and crashed in the rear of the woman’s vehicle that was stopped in traffic.

Ybarra died at the crash scene. 

EMS took the female driver to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators don’t suspect impairment by the woman.

Further investigation into this deadly crash is ongoing.
