Driver Arrested after DUI Crash on Pacer Street and San Francisco Street in Redding
Redding, CA (March 18, 2022) – Friday early morning, a female passenger sustained injuries in a DUI crash on Pacer Street and San Francisco Street.
Subsequently, police arrested the driver, 23-year-old Davin Chavez for driving on a suspended license and DUI with bodily injury.
The DUI rollover crash in Redding happened just before 1 a.m on March 18.
Redding Police said Chavez was traveling west on Placer Street near Cottonwood Avenue at high speeds when he drove off the road and hit a boulder.
The vehicle then rolled several times before coming to a stop at Placer Street and San Francisco Street.
The fire department extricated the woman from the vehicle.
EMS took her to Mercy Medical Center for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said Chavez was driving on a suspended license for a prior DUI arrest. Moreover, he had a preliminary blood alcohol content of almost three times the legal limit.
Further, Chavez was arrested at the scene and is currently booked into the Shasta County Jail.
