1 Hurt and 1 Detained in San Diego Car Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 15, 2019) – A female driver sustained a broken leg in a DUI car accident while authorities arrested an alleged intoxicated driver on April 12.
The incident happened in the 7100 block of Miramar Road near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar about 12:30 p.m. According to reports, westbound 2012 Nissan Sentra swerved to the right and hit a 2003 Nissan Maxima. The Maxima then crashed with a 1998 Honda Civic, San Diego police said.
Sgt. Robert Hawkins said that responders transported the 35-year-old Maxima female driver to a hospital for treatment of a compound ankle fracture.
Meanwhile, authorities detained 29-year-old Sentra driver on suspicion of DUI. He complained of pain, but didn’t suffer serious injuries.
The victim’s identity remains unavailable as of this time.
