Injuries Reported in Oxnard Garage Accident on South M Street near Hill Street

 
OXNARD, CA (January 22, 2021) – Thursday morning, a woman suffered injuries in a crash on South M Street near Hill Street.
 
According to reports, a driver crashed into two garages in an alley just before 10:30 a.m. It happened behind the 1100 block of South M Street, near the cross with Hill Street. Moreover, it happened in a residential area south of Wooley Road and east of South Ventura Road.
 
When the Oxnard Fire Department crews arrived, they located the vehicle that had crashed into the corner of two garages. Meanwhile, Battalion Chief Aaron Baker said that the driver escaped the crash scene.
 
Baker added that people were living in one of the garages. In fact, a mother and child were in bed during the collision. The crash pushed them both off the bed. Also, the mother sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene. Meanwhile, the child was uninjured.
 
The department’s urban search and rescue unit, an engine, and two trucks all came to the scene. Meanwhile, fire personnel took charge in shoring up both structures. Also, the city building and safety personnel came.
 
At this time, the authorities continue to seek the driver. A witness reported that the involved vehicle was a green SUV.
 
The involved driver was said to be in his 40s and was the sole occupant of the SUV. Witnesses added that he had brown hair, wearing a black shirt, and was heavyset.
