Bicyclist Transported in Rancho Peñasquitos Collision
San Diego, CA (July 15, 2024) – A 60-year-old woman was severely injured following a hit-and-run crash on Rancho Peñasquitos Boulevard Sunday morning.
It was about 8:40 a.m. when the traffic accident happened in the 13100 block area.
Troopers said the woman was riding a mountain bike in Rancho Peñasquitos and a a silver or charcoal gray mid-sized SUV was traveling in the same direction.
Suddenly, the SUV swerved to the right, struck the bicyclist, and fled.
Investigators stated the SUV driver had been driving erratically before it struck the woman who was left bleeding from the head.
Immediately, the woman was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was then rushed to surgery due to brain bleeding and a fractured spine.
The authorities are investigating this traffic accident.
