1 Injured in Car and Bus Collision on Marine Drive near Norman Road
STANWOOD, WA (September 4, 2018) – A 25-year-old Mount Vernon woman was injured in a head-on crash on Marine Drive, early Tuesday evening.
The collision occurred just after 6:00 PM near Norman Road. According to the officials with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was driving down Marine when she crossed the center lane and crashed into the bus head-on. Due to the impact of the collision, the bus drove into a nearby cornfield.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and pulled out the injured woman from her vehicle. She was transported to the Providence Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, while the driver and two passengers inside the bus were reportedly not hurt. There is no update on her current medical condition.
No additional information has been released by the authorities, as they are still investigating the incident to confirm the cause. It is unclear at this time if drugs and alcohol were contributing factors.
