Woman Hurt in Camarillo 2-Vehicle Crash

CAMARILLO, CA (June 27, 2019) – A crash at Las Posas Road and Crestview Avenue left a 74-year-old woman with serious injuries Thursday afternoon.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred at the intersection at 3:03 p.m. It involved a blue Mercedes Benz sedan and a gray Hyundai sport utility vehicle.

The Mercedes traveled southbound on Crestview Avenue at the time of the crash. As a result, it crossed through the intersection at Las Posas Road. After that, the Hyundai collided with the front passenger side of the Mercedes.

The 74-year-old woman was the front passenger of the Mercedes. Emergency responders took her to a hospital in serious condition. In addition, they took the driver of the Mercedes to the hospital as well. However, officials said the driver was a 67-year-old Camarillo woman.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 55-year-old Camarillo woman, remained at the scene. However, she cooperated with the investigators. In addition, deputies believe that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

In the meantime, officials urge anyone who has information about the crash to call Senior Deputy Shawn Holzberger at 805-388-5146. The Camarillo Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash.

Failing to yield the right-of-way can cause a serious road accident. However, you can prevent this. If you see a yield sign ahead, let other drivers crossing your road take the right-of-way. If there is no yield sign and you are pulling into a highway or an intersection, slow down. Stop if necessary and yield the right-of-way to traffic. As a result, driving in a safe and legal manner can avoid the risk of accidents.
