SAN DIEGO, CA (December 15, 2022) – Tuesday night, a woman suffered injuries in an electric bicycle crash on Friars Road near Morena Boulevard.
 
The incident occurred at about 5:20 p.m. in the westbound bike lane at 5100 Friars Road, near Morena Boulevard.
 
According to reports, a 56-year-old woman riding an e-bike failed to see an abandoned shopping cart on its side in the bike lane. Then, the woman struck the cart, went over the handlebars, and landed on her head.
 
When responders arrived, they found the unresponsive but breathing. Then, they took her to a nearby hospital.
 
Officers confirmed that she sustained a brain bleed and is currently on life support.
