Injuries Reported after Tacoma Accident on 3320 S 23rd Street
TACOMA, WA (April 14, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, a woman suffered injuries after a crash on 3320 S 23rd Street in Tacoma.
The police came to the scene at around 1:15 p.m. outside the Target at 3320 S 23rd Street.
When the officers arrived, they located the injured woman on the ground. Blood was found on her head and hip. Thus, responders took her to a hospital with a possible broken hip and concussion.
Meanwhile, some witnesses confirmed that the driver traveled at a high speed through the parking lot. “When all of the sudden she drove up onto the sidewalk on the north side of the roadway striking a large concrete red ball that was affixed to the front of the store,” the declaration for determination of probable cause stated. “The large ball came off of its steel post and rolled northeast toward a crowd of people and the ‘Target’ building.”
Afterward, the sphere hit the woman and a store’s pillar, “leaving an imprint of the large ball,” the probable cause statement added.
Meanwhile, the driver almost struck others.
Furthermore, the driver was seen talking to herself or someone witnesses couldn’t see before the collision. An officer added that she seemed confused.
She spoke quickly and couldn’t hold still and had taken methamphetamine the day before and hadn’t slept.
The prosecutors charged her with the following: vehicular assault, reckless endangerment, and driving with a suspended or revoked license in the third degree.
During the arraignment Monday, she pleaded not guilty. The police held her in place of $30,000 bail.
