Woman Critically Injured in Head-On Collision on Alki Avenue Southwest [Seattle, WA]

Seattle, WA (July 17, 2023) – On Sunday, a woman sustained critical injuries following a head-on collision on Alki Avenue Southwest.

The two-car collision took place in Seattle’s Alki Beach neighborhood. 

Those who were at the scene during the accident told police a man was driving at a high rate of speed when his vehicle collided head-on with the woman’s car, sending it into the water.

Bystanders acted quickly and pulled the woman from the water and moved her into dry land. 

Immediately, two men jumped into the water and tried to break the car’s window while a neighbor found a hammer that they used to smash the window open. 

Then, a neighbor brought out a ladder which the men used to carry the woman onto dry land and they started CPR.

Rescuers said there are no additional occupants in the car. 

Moreover, the other car’s driver was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officers are investigating the cause of the traffic accident in Seattle’s Alki Beach neighborhood.
