1 Injured in Oceanside Pedestrian Accident near 5 Freeway and Highway 76
OCEANSIDE, CA (October 15, 2019) — A woman was injured in a pedestrian accident near 5 Freeway early Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. The victim and another woman were walking on a transition ramp from southbound 5 Freeway to westbound Highway 76. Reports indicated that they were returning to their car after it ran out of gas.
The two women were crossing the transition ramp when a Toyota Camry lost control on the ramp. The two women then went in opposite directions to avoid the car. However, the Toyota struck one of them.
First responders transported the injured woman to a hospital with major injuries. On the other hand, no information was available about the driver of the Toyota.
Meantime, the investigation of the crash is ongoing.
